As a child I used to think that going to school was a chore and never understood how anyone could enjoy it or how teachers are there to help and support us when all I could think was I’m giving up 5 days a week to do ‘nothing’. However, it wasn’t until the help and support of a teacher was all I could rely on to keep myself in school, that I realised how important it is to never give up.
For me, that’s what school is all about, never giving up and about having belief that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and most importantly if you have the support of others to believe in you too. Along with friends, school is about building positive relationships with adults who you are able to trust and speak to whenever you feel you need to, ensuring you always feel supported at the highest and lowest of times. School isn’t just about learning about specific subjects, it’s about learning about yourself and what you’re capable of. What better way to experience that than to help others experience it to.
